Hillside House

Easthampton, MA

This comprehensive renovation with two modest additions transformed a two-family rental property with small, dark rooms, into a bright, spacious-single family home for a jewelry designer and her young family.

The design combines classic detailing with a modern approach to space and connection, resulting in a home that is both timeless and currently responsive to the family’s present lifestyle.

The front, public-facing sides of the house reference classic New England residential architecture, in harmony with the traditional character of the neighborhood. The back, private side of the house opens up to draw light in and  embrace scenic views of the treed backyard and mountains beyond.
